Once pupils have been learning for a number of years and have progressed through the early levels of learning, they are able to take advantage of wider opportunities to share their playing with others. They can take Graded exams though Trinity College, and perform and compete in the Kent and North Kent Festivals.
Lessons for intermediate and advanced pupils are designed for their strengths and interests. Pupils can learn a wide range of repertoire from classical to pop, and will continue to build all round skills in improvisation and compositon. Group lessons take place to give them the opportunity to work on theory and learn duet and trio ensembles.
Intermediate lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long, and take place once a week. Advanced students at Grade 7 and beyond are recommended to have a minimum of 60 minutes a week.
